About the Commission on Certification & Auditing (this is part of the membership organization and just the certification commission that approves the standards, procedures and applicants)
The Commission, under the auspices of AACMCA, operates as an independent body for all matters involving certification. It establishes, implements, and enforces standards and procedures for certification and recertification of Coding and Auditing Professionals, specifically:
• Develops and keeps current national standards of requisite knowledge in coding and auditing
• Provides evaluations mechanisms for measuring and monitoring the level of knowledge required for credentialing
• Provides formal recognition to those individuals who meet the industry standards
• Establishes appropriate policies for acquiring and maintaining the credentials
